On November 16, 1920, the two former World War II pilots Paul McGinness and Hudson Fysh founded Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Limited, or Qantas for short. In 100 years, the airline has grown from its tender beginnings with a double-decker with a top speed of 105 km / h with space for two passengers to the globally active airline of today, whose flagship Airbus A380 brings almost 500 people to their destination at a speed of 900 km / h at the same time.
To usher in the anniversary year, Qantas introduced a special paint job on its latest aircraft type in November 2019. In addition to the anniversary design on this 787, further models from Qantas’ rich history in 1: 500 and 1: 200 scales are in the works.
