The Texelaar is a breed of sheep that is most common in the Netherlands. About 14,000 sheep live on the island of Texel, where the breed originated, about as many as there are people living on the island. About 11,000 lambs are born there in the spring. The fur of the ewes is sand-coloured/white, the legs and head are white.
