Description
HO 1:87 Scale
The G-Class heralded the SUV future at Mercedes-Benz
Immediately after the premiere, WIKING followed up with the color-updated variant in a pebble-grey design. The late realization of the model building idea of WIKING boss Fritz Peltzer was appreciated by all collectors after it became known – this is what real model building history looks like. The complete design templates from back then were found in the WIKING archive just as happily as they were coincidental, not only for the MB G presented in 1979 in the long but also in the short version. Apparently, talks with Mercedes-Benz about an industrial order played a role more than 40 years ago, because as early as 1980 WIKING presented the well-known G model.
