Description
“The egg” shaped into a vacation home by Sportberger
One quick glance was enough – and the name said it all: Simply referred to as “the egg”, the Sportberger L3 wrote a new chapter in caravan history. It marks a time in the fifties in Germany when the Germans started turning into a society of leisure lovers. Its distinctive kidney shape, which was exceedingly popular at the time, turned the caravan into an “angular egg” and exemplified a basic concept that originated as early as the late thirties – when the first caravans gave car owners their first feeling of independence. The same summer vacationers were to become enthusiasts of the Sportberger caravan in the nineteen fifties as well. The vacationers preferred to spend the day in front of the caravan – while seeking safe shelter inside of it at night.
